Does Canva Steal Your Designs?

PRO TIP: Canva has been known to steal designs from its users. If you are a Canva user, be sure to keep your designs safe and secure. Do not share your designs with anyone, and be sure to watermark your work.

Canva is a graphic design platform that allows users to create designs for social media, marketing materials, presentations, posters, and more.

There have been some concerns raised about Canva’s terms of service, specifically that they allow Canva to use designs that are created on their platform.

Canva’s terms of service do state that by using the platform, you grant Canva a worldwide, royalty-free, sublicenseable, and transferable license to use your content. However, they also state that they will not sell your content or share it with third-parties without your permission.

So while it is true that Canva does have the right to use your designs, it seems that they are only using them for promotional purposes and not for profit. If you’re concerned about your designs being used without your permission, you can always watermark them or create them in a private account.
