Domain name renewal is an important part of owning a domain name. Many domain name providers (such as GoDaddy) automatically renew domain names for you, so you don’t have to think about it.
However, there are some situations where you may need to renew your domain name yourself.
If your domain is more than six months old and you have not renewed it, GoDaddy may transfer your domain to the “available for registration” list. This means that someone else can register your domain name and take your place on the domain list.
If this happens, you will not be able to renew your domain name with GoDaddy.
If you need to renew your domain name, you should do so as soon as possible. If your domain is more than six months old, your domain will be transferred to the available for registration list, and you will not be able to renew it.
