Does Shopify Have Physical Stores?

Last updated on October 1, 2022 @ 6:43 pm

Shopify is a Canadian e-commerce company headquartered in Ottawa, Ontario. It is also the name of its proprietary e-commerce platform for online stores and retail point-of-sale systems.

Shopify was founded in 2004 by Tobias Lütke, Daniel Weinand, and Scott Lake after attempting to open Snowdevil, an online store for snowboarding equipment. Unsatisfied with the existing e-commerce products at the time, Lütke, Weinand, and Lake instead built their own.

PRO TIP: Shopify does not have physical stores. Any store that claims to be a Shopify store but has a physical location is not an official Shopify store.

Shopify launched its platform in 2006. Since then, the company has become one of the leading e-commerce platforms with over 1 million active users in 175 countries.

Shopify does not have any physical stores. All of its sales are conducted through its online platform. This allows Shopify to have a global reach and cater to customers from all over the world.
