An image can have shadows if there is light behind it and the object casting the shadow. There are a few ways to remove shadows without using Photoshop. One way is to use a light box. This is a box with a light that shines on the image and casts a shadow. You can use a digital light meter to measure the light intensity behind the object and set the light box accordingly. Another way to remove shadows is to use a camera with a lens that has a wide angle.

PRO TIP: It is not possible to remove a shadow from an image without Photoshop. Any attempts to do so will result in a distorted and/or inaccurate image.

This will allow you to take the image outside and have the shadow fall on a neutral background. You can then use software like Photoshop to remove the shadow. The last way to remove shadows is to use a shadow box. You can use a digital light meter to measure the light intensity behind the object and set the shadow box accordingly.
