How Can You Tell if a Website Is Shopify?

It’s no secret that ecommerce is booming. In 2019, global ecommerce sales reached $3.53 trillion and are projected to grow to $6.54 trillion by 2023. With such a large and growing market, it’s no wonder that more and more businesses are turning to Shopify to build their online stores.

Shopify is a popular ecommerce platform that helps businesses create and manage their online stores. It’s easy to use and has a lot of features that businesses can take advantage of, such as product management, inventory management, shipping, payments, and more.

PRO TIP: If you are thinking about using Shopify to build your website, there are a few things you should know. First, Shopify is a proprietary platform, which means that you will be locked into using their platform and will not be able to move your website to another platform without starting from scratch. Second, Shopify is a hosted platform, which means that you will be responsible for keeping your website up and running and will need to pay Shopify a monthly fee. Finally, while Shopify is a great platform for building an online store, it is not necessarily the best platform for every type of website. If you are not sure whether or not Shopify is right for your website, we recommend talking to a web developer or designer before making your decision.

But how can you tell if a website is built on Shopify? There are a few telltale signs:

The website will have a “.myShopify.com” domain: This is the default domain that Shopify assigns to stores. If you see this domain, it’s a pretty good indication that the store is built on Shopify. The website will have a “powered by Shopify” badge: This badge is usually found in the footer of the website and is another good indication that the site is built on Shopify. The website will use Shopify’s default theme: Unless the store owner has customized the theme, most Shopify stores will use one of the platform’s default themes.

This isn’t necessarily a surefire sign, but it’s something to look out for. If you’re not sure whether a website is built on Shopify or not, you can always contact the store owner and ask. They should be able to tell you for sure.
