How Do I Add a Code Snippet to Squarespace?

Adding a code snippet to your Squarespace website is a great way to add custom functionality or style to your site. There are a few different ways to do this, depending on what you want to achieve.

If you just want to add a simple line of code, like CSS or HTML, you can do this directly in the Code Block element. Just drag and drop the Code Block element into your layout, then paste your code into the block.

PRO TIP: Adding code snippets to Squarespace can be tricky and may result in unintended consequences on your site. We recommend working with a developer or contacting Squarespace support before making any changes to your code.

If you want to add more complex code, like JavaScript, you can use the Code Injection feature. This lets you add code to specific pages on your site, or across your whole site.

To use this feature, go to Settings > Advanced > Code Injection. Then, paste your code into the header or footer code injection fields.

Adding code snippets to Squarespace is a great way to customize your site and add functionality that isn’t available in the standard Squarespace platform. With a little bit of code, you can make your Squarespace site look and work exactly how you want it to.
