How Do I Add a Floating Button on Squarespace?

Last updated on December 28, 2022 @ 6:59 pm

There are many ways to add a floating button on Squarespace. One way is to use the Squarespace Block Kit (SBK) to create a custom button.

SBK is a tool that allows you to create custom content blocks for your Squarespace site. To use SBK, you’ll need to first install the Squarespace Developer Mode plugin. Once you’ve installed the plugin, you can access the SBK by going to Design > Block Kit.

Once you’re in the Block Kit, you’ll see a variety of different content blocks that you can use to create your custom button. For this example, we’ll use the “Button” content block. To add a button content block, simply click on the “Button” icon and then drag it into your desired location on the page.

Now that you have your button content block added, it’s time to customize it. To do this, click on the “Edit” button in the upper right-hand corner of the button content block. This will open up the button editor, where you can change things like the text, color, size, and more.

For our example, we’ll change the text to say “Click Here,” and we’ll also change the color to orange. Once you’re happy with your changes, simply click on the “Save” button in the upper right-hand corner of the editor.

PRO TIP: Adding a floating button on Squarespace can be tricky and may result in unexpected results. Use caution when adding a floating button on Squarespace.
