How Do I Add a Second Header in Squarespace?

Last updated on December 22, 2022 @ 4:22 am

In Squarespace, adding a second header is simple. Just follow these steps:

1. In the Home Menu, click Pages.
2. Click the + icon next to the page you want to add a header to.
3. Click Layout.
4. Under Sections, click Add Section.
5. Click Header.
6. Click Add.

Now that you’ve added a second header, you can style it using HTML tags.

To do this, follow these steps:

    1. In the Home Menu, click Design.
    2. Click Custom CSS.
      • Note:: If you haven’t already, we recommend switching to the new Custom CSS Editor. It’s more powerful and easier to use than the older editor.

In the Custom CSS Editor, paste the following code into the Custom CSS text box:

.header-two {
    background-color: #fff;
 /* Change this to whatever color you want your header to be */
style="margin-left: 60px;">}
PRO TIP: Adding a second header in Squarespace can be tricky and may result in unexpected behavior. If you’re not careful, you may end up with two headers that are misaligned or overlapping. Proceed with caution and be sure to test your changes before publishing them.
