Adding a side navigation bar in Squarespace can be a bit tricky, but it is definitely possible. Here are some tips to help you get started:

1. First, create a new page in your account and give it a unique name.

This page will be the home page for your side navigation bar.

2. Next, click on the “Layers” tab in your Squarespace account and select the “Pages” layer.

3. On the Pages layer, double-click on the page you created in step one to open it in the editor.

4. Next, click on the “Design” tab in your Squarespace account and select the “Sidebar” icon.

5. On the Sidebar icon’s menu, select the “Add a Side Navigation Bar” button.

6. On the “Add a Side Navigation Bar” window, you will need to provide some information about your bar. First, give it a name and choose a theme.

Then, select the pages you want your navigation bar to appear on. Finally, add any additional CSS rules you need to ensure your navigation bar looks the way you want it to.

PRO TIP: Adding a side navigation bar in Squarespace can be tricky and may result in unwanted changes to your site’s design. Proceed with caution and be sure to backup your site before making any changes.

7. Once you have completed the “Add a Side Navigation Bar” window, click on the “Create” button to create your bar.

8. Your side navigation bar should now be visible on your page.

To customize it further, you can click on the “Sidebar” icon and select the “Customize” button. From here, you can change the color, theme, and position of your bar.

9. Finally, you can add any additional content to your side navigation bar by clicking on the “Sidebar” icon and selecting the “Add Content” button.

From here, you can add links to your favorite blog posts, pages, or galleries.
