Bevel and embossing are two great ways to add depth and interest to your text in Photoshop. Here’s how to do it:

1. Select the text layer you want to add bevel and embossing to. In the Layers panel, click on the layer name to select it. If you have multiple text layers, you’ll need to select each one individually.

2. Go to Layer > Layer Style > Bevel and Emboss. This will open up the Layer Style dialog box with the Bevel and Emboss options. If you don’t see the Layer Style dialog box, make sure you have the ” Styles ” checkbox ticked in the upper left corner.

3. Choose your bevel style. There are four different styles to choose from: Outer Bevel, Inner Bevel, Emboss, and Pillow Emboss.

Outer Bevel will create a bevel around the outside of your text, Inner Bevel will create a bevel around the inside of your text, Emboss will create a raised effect on your text, and Pillow Emboss will create a sunken effect. For this example, we’ll choose Outer Bevel.

4. Adjust the Depth, Direction, Size, and Soften settings. These settings will all affect how pronounced your bevel and embossing is.

Depth controls how deep the bevel is, Direction controls which way the light is coming from (up, down, left, or right), Size controls how wide the bevel is, and Soften controls how blurry the edges of the bevel are. Play around with these settings until you get the look you want.

5. Choose your shading style. There are two different shading styles: Chisel Hard and Chisel Soft.

Chisel Hard will create sharp shadows and highlights, while Chisel Soft will create softer shadows and highlights. For this example, we’ll choose Chisel Hard.

6. Adjust the Angle, Altitude, and Highlight Mode settings.

These settings control how light interacts with your beveled edge.

Angle controls the angle of the light (in degrees), Altitude controls how high above or below the horizon the light is coming from (in degrees), and Highlight Mode determines what color mode Photoshop uses for highlights (RGB, Lightness, Luminosity). Again, play around with these settings until you get the look you want.

Adding bevel and embossing is a great way to add depth and interest to your text in Photoshop. By playing around with different styles and settings, you can create all sorts of looks for your text

PRO TIP: Bevel and emboss are special effects in Photoshop that can add depth and dimension to your images. However, if used incorrectly, they can make your images look unnatural and unprofessional. When using bevel and emboss, be sure to experiment with the different settings to find the ones that work best for your image.
