Carrier calculated shipping is a great way to make sure your customers are getting the best shipping rates possible. There are a few things you need to do in order to set it up, but it’s definitely worth it in the end. Here’s what you need to know about adding carrier calculated shipping to your Shopify store.

1. Set up your shipping zones

The first thing you need to do is set up your shipping zones. This will ensure that your customers are only being charged for shipping to areas that you ship to. To do this, go to Settings > Shipping and click on the Add shipping zone button.

Give your shipping zone a name and then add the countries that you ship to. Once you’ve done that, click Save. Repeat this process for every shipping zone that you have.

2. Choose which carriers you want to use

The next step is to choose which carriers you want to use for carrier calculated shipping. To do this, go to Settings > Shipping and scroll down to the Carrier Calculated Shipping section.

Here, you’ll see a list of all the carriers that Shopify supports. Choose the ones that you want to use and then click Save. Keep in mind that not all carriers offer carrier calculated shipping.

3. Set up your shipping rates

Now it’s time to set up your shipping rates. To do this, go to Settings > Shipping.

In the Shipping rates at checkout, select the Calculate rates using: dropdown and choose “Carrier calculated shipping”. Then, enter your base rate and click “Save”. Your base rate is the starting point for your shipping rates and will be used for all of your customers.

Now that you know how to add carrier calculated shipping to your Shopify store, you can start offering your customers the best possible rates on their orders.

PRO TIP: If you are considering adding Carrier Calculation Shipping to your Shopify store, be aware that there are some potential risks involved.

First and foremost, Carrier Calculation Shipping can be a bit complex to set up, so it’s important to make sure you understand all the steps involved before proceeding. Additionally, once you have Carrier Calculation Shipping set up, it’s important to keep an eye on your shipping rates and make sure they are accurate. If your shipping rates are inaccurate, it could lead to customers being overcharged or undercharged for their orders, which could cause customer satisfaction issues.
