If you’re working on a design project in Figma, you may find yourself in need of some additional design components. Luckily, Figma makes it easy to add new components to your library. In this article, we’ll show you how to do just that.

To add a new component to your library in Figma, first open the file that contains the component you want to add. Then, select the component on the canvas and click the “Add to Library” button in the Inspector panel on the right-hand side of the screen. Doing so will add the selected component to your library, making it available for use in future projects.

PRO TIP: If you are not careful, you may end up adding components to the wrong library in Figma. Make sure you are in the correct library before adding any components.

You can also add an entire frame to your library by selecting the frame on the canvas and clicking the “Add to Library” button in the Inspector panel. When adding a frame to your library, all of the objects within that frame will be added as well.

Once you’ve added a component or frame to your library, you can access it at any time by clicking the “Library” tab at the top of the screen. Here, you’ll see all of the components and frames that you’ve added to your library, which you can then drag-and-drop into any open project file.

Conclusion

Adding new components and frames to your Figma library is a quick and easy process that can save you time down the road. By having all of your design assets readily available in one place, you’ll be able to work more efficiently and effectively on future projects.
