In Photoshop, there are a few ways that you can adjust the brightness of just one layer. One way is to use the ” levels” tool. To do this, first make sure that the layer you want to adjust is selected in the ” layers” panel. Then, go to ” image” > ” adjustments” > ” levels.”

In the levels dialogue box, there will be a graph with a black line running through the middle. To adjust the brightness of the layer, simply click and drag the black line to the left or right.

Another way to adjust the brightness of just one layer is to use the ” curves” tool. To do this, go to ” image” > ” adjustments” > ” curves.”

In the curves dialogue box, there will be a graph with a line running through the middle. To adjust the brightness of the layer, simply click and drag the line up or down.

A third way to adjust the brightness of just one layer is to use the ” hue/saturation” tool. To do this, go to ” image” > ” adjustments” > ” hue/saturation.”

In the hue/saturation dialogue box, there will be a slider labeled ” lightness.” Adjusting this slider will change the brightness of the layer.

PRO TIP: If you are not careful, you can accidentally adjust the brightness of the wrong layer, which can have undesirable results.

Finally, you can also adjust the opacity of the layer to change its brightness. To do this, simply select the layer in question and then go to ” edit” > ” opacity.” A slider will appear; adjusting this slider will change how opaque (and thus, how bright) the layer is.

Conclusion:

There are several ways that you can adjust the brightness of just one layer in Photoshop. By using either the levels tool, curves tool, hue/saturation tool, or by adjusting the opacity of the layer, you can get your desired results.
