How do I change CMYK to RGB in Illustrator?

Last updated on December 11, 2022 @ 1:34 pm

If you are working in Adobe Illustrator and want to change the colors in your file from CMYK to RGB, there are a few things you can do.

First, open the file in which you want to make the change, then select the object or objects you want to change colors for.

PRO TIP: If you are not familiar with color models and color profiles, it is best to avoid changing colorspaces in Illustrator. The CMYK (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, Key/Black) color mode is used for print documents, and the RGB (Red, Green, Blue) color mode is used for web documents. If you convert colors from one mode to another, there is a chance that the colors will look different than what you intended.

Now, go to the right menu and select the “Color” window.

In the Color window, click on the “three dashes” icon in the top right corner.

From there, change CMYK to RGB by clicking on the “RGB” option.

You can now change the RGB values for the colors you want to change!
