How do I change my order status automatically in WooCommerce?

If you are using WooCommerce to run your online shop, you may have noticed that it can be difficult to change your order status manually. This is because WooCommerce takes a lot of information from your orders, such as the order date, order quantity, and customer information, and it can be difficult to change all of these details at once.

Fortunately, there is a way to change your order status automatically in WooCommerce. To do this, you will first need to create a custom order status quo.

This is a custom field that WooCommerce will use to keep track of your order status. You can find more information about creating custom order statuses in our guide on custom order statuses.

PRO TIP: If you are using WooCommerce to manage your orders, it is important to be aware that you can change your order status automatically in WooCommerce. This setting can be found in the settings section of your WooCommerce account. If you enable this setting, any changes in your order status will be automatically reflected in your WooCommerce account. This includes changes to the order status of any orders that are placed through your website. While this setting can be convenient, it is important to be aware that it can also lead to problems if you are not careful. For example, if you accidentally change the status of an order from “Pending” to “Completed”, the order will be completed and the customer will be charged, even if you did not intend for this to happen. As a result, it is important to only enable this setting if you are confident that you will always remember to manually change the order status in WooCommerce when necessary.

Once you have created your custom order status quo, you will need to add it to your WooCommerce order form. To do this, open your WooCommerce order form, and then click on the “Settings” tab.

Under the “Order Status quo” section, you will need to add your custom order status quo name and value. After you have added your custom order status quo, your order will be automatically updated to the new order status quo whenever it is modified.
