How Do I Change My Primary Domain on Wix?

When you first create a Wix account, you’re asked to choose a primary domain. This is the main address for your website that appears in your browser’s address bar.

You can always change your primary domain later on. Here’s how:

1. Log into your Wix account and go to Site Manager. 2. Click Domains in the left panel. 3. Click the domain that you want to make your primary domain.

A dialog box appears. 4. Click Make Primary. 5. In the dialog box that appears, click OK. 6. Your new primary domain is now active!

Note: You can have only one primary domain per site.

Changing Your Primary Domain if You Have More Than One Domain

If you have more than one domain and want to change your primary domain, follow these instructions:

PRO TIP: If you are considering changing your primary domain on Wix, be aware that this will cause your site to be inaccessible for up to 48 hours while the DNS changes propagate. During this time, any email sent to your old domain will also not be delivered.

1. Go to Site Manager. Click Domains.

Hover over the domain that you want to make your primary domain and click the (..) icon that appears.

4. Select Make Primary Domain. A dialog box appears.

5. Click OK. Your new primary domain is now active!
