How Do I Change the Currency in WooCommerce?

Last updated on January 12, 2023 @ 12:59 pm

If you’re using WooCommerce to sell products or services online, you may want to change the currency in which prices are displayed. For example, if you’re based in the United States but selling products to customers in Europe, you may want to show prices in Euros. In this article, we’ll show you how to change the currency in WooCommerce.

Changing the currency in WooCommerce is fairly simple. First, you need to install and activate the WooCommerce Multi Currency plugin. For more information on how to install a WordPress plugin, check out our guide on how to install a WordPress plugin.

PRO TIP: If you are using WooCommerce to sell products or services online, you may want to change the currency in which prices are displayed. This can be done in the WooCommerce settings. However, before changing the currency, you should be aware of a few things.

If you change the currency, all prices on your website will be displayed in the new currency. This includes product prices, shipping costs, taxes, and any other fees. If you have already set up your WooCommerce store with products and pricing in one currency, changing to a different currency will likely cause confusion for your customers. It is also important to note that changing the currency will not automatically convert your prices into the new currency. You will need to manually update all of your pricing to reflect the change.

Before changing the currency in WooCommerce, we recommend doing some research on what currencies are most commonly used by your target market. You should also consider whether or not you want to offer pricing in multiple currencies. If so, you may need to install a plugin that allows for this. Lastly, make sure you update all of your prices before making the switch, as this will help avoid any confusion or frustration from your customers.

Once you’ve installed and activated the plugin, you need to go to WooCommerce > Settings from your WordPress admin dashboard. On the Settings page, select the Multi Currency tab from the top menu.

On the Multi Currency page, you need to select your base currency and the currencies you want to add from the dropdown menus. Once you’ve done that, click on the Add Currency button to add them.

You can also set up automatic exchange rates for your currencies by clicking on the Enable Automatic Exchange Rates button. This will pull exchange rates from Yahoo Finance once every 24 hours.

Note: If you don’t want to use automatic exchange rates, you can set custom exchange rates for each currency by clicking on the Custom Exchange Rates tab. You can also set up automatic exchange rates for your currencies by clicking on the Enable Automatic Exchange Rates. To change the currency in WooCommerce, first install and activate the WooCommerce Multi Currency plugin. Then go to WooCommerce > Settings and select the Multi Currency tab. Add the currencies you want to use and set up automatic exchange rates if desired.
