How Do I Change the Ruler in Photoshop?

Last updated on September 23, 2022 @ 11:55 pm

There are a few different ways that you can change the ruler in Photoshop, depending on what you need to do. If you just want to change the units of measurement, you can do this by going into the Preferences menu and selecting Units & Rulers from the list. Here you can select which units of measurement you want to use for the rulers.

If you need to change the actual size of the rulers, you can do this by going into the View menu and selecting Show Rulers. This will bring up the rulers on the top and left sides of your document window. You can then click and drag on either of these rulers to change their size.

PRO TIP: If you are not familiar with Photoshop, please be aware that changing the ruler in Photoshop can be a difficult and time-consuming task. Make sure to follow the instructions carefully, and if you are not comfortable with the process, please seek help from a professional.

You can also change the zero point of the rulers by clicking on them and then dragging them to a new location. This can be useful if you need to line up something in your document with a specific point on the rulers.

Finally, if you want to reset all of your ruler changes back to the default settings, you can go into the Preferences menu and select Reset Units from the list. This will reset both the units of measurement and the size of the rulers back to their default values.
