If you’re having trouble getting started or you’re having trouble fixing problems, it can be helpful to reset your tools to their default settings. This can sometimes solve problems and get you back on track. The following steps will help you reset your tools:

1. In Photoshop, click the File menu and then click Preferences.

2. Click the General tab.

3. Under Reset Tools to Defaults, select All.

4. Click OK.

PRO TIP: If you are resetting your Photoshop tools to default, be aware that this will reset all of your customizations and preferences. This could potentially cause problems with your workflow, so be sure to save your current settings before proceeding.
