How Do I Connect My Existing Domain to Squarespace?

Last updated on October 1, 2022 @ 12:27 am

If you have a domain name already registered with another provider, you can use it with your Squarespace site by connecting it to our platform. To do this, you’ll need to set what’s called DNS records with your domain’s registrar. This process is different for every registrar, but the general idea is the same: you’ll be creating or updating records that point your domain to Squarespace’s servers.

Before you begin, we recommend checking if your domain is eligible for transfer to Squarespace. If it is, transferring your domain will simplify the connection process and ensure that your DNS records are set correctly.

If you’re not ready to transfer your domain yet or your domain isn’t eligible, follow the instructions below to connect it using DNS records.
