How do I connect to Linode object storage?

Last updated on September 25, 2022 @ 12:57 pm

When setting up your Linode object storage, you can connect to it through the public API or the Linode Manager. The public API is more user-friendly, but the Linode Manager is easier to use if you want to manage multiple Linodes.

To connect to your Linode object storage through the public API, you first need to create an account on the Linode website. After you create your account, you can create a Linode object storage account by clicking the “Create Account” button and entering your credentials.

Next, you need to create a project in the Linode public API. To do this, you first need to create an account on the Linode Manager.

PRO TIP: Please be aware that connecting to Linode object storage can be dangerous. There are many reports of people losing data or having their account hacked after connecting to object storage. Please be sure to only connect to object storage from trusted devices and networks.

After you create your account, you can click the “Create Project” button and enter your credentials.

Once you have created your project, you can create a container in the Linode public API by clicking the “Create Container” button and entering your credentials. To use the public API, you need to specify the project ID and the container ID that you created.

To connect to your Linode object storage through the Linode Manager, first open the Linode Manager. Next, click the “Connect to Storage” button and enter your credentials.

After you connect to your Linode object storage, you can create containers and objects in your storage.
