How Do I Copy and Paste Text in Figma?

In Figma, copying and pasting text is a breeze! Just select the text you want to copy, then press Ctrl+C (PC) or Cmd+C (Mac) on your keyboard. To paste the text, position your cursor where you want the text to go and press Ctrl+V (PC) or Cmd+V (Mac).

If you want to copy and paste formatting as well as the text itself, use the Format Painter tool. To use this tool, first select the text with the formatting you want to copy.

Then click the Format Painter icon in the toolbar (it looks like a paintbrush) and hover over the text where you want to apply the formatting. When the highlighted area looks how you want it, click to apply the formatting.

PRO TIP: When copying and pasting text in Figma, be sure to use the correct keyboard shortcut for your operating system. On a PC, the shortcut is Ctrl+C and Ctrl+V. On a Mac, the shortcut is Cmd+C and Cmd+V.

You can also style text using HTML tags. To make text bold, use the <b> tag.

For example, <b>this text will be bold</b>. To underline text, use the <u> tag. For example, <u>this text will be underlined</u>.
