If you’re using Shopify for your ecommerce store, you may want to create subcategories to help organize your products. Subcategories can be created in the Admin section of your Shopify store. To do this:

1. From the Admin panel, go to >Products.
2. On the Products page, select Add product.
3. Enter the Name, Description, and other details for the product.
4. In the Type field, select the type of product you’re adding from the drop-down menu.
5. Select the Add a subcategory checkbox.
6. Enter the name of the subcategory in the Subcategory name field.
7. Select a parent category for the subcategory from the Parent category drop-down menu. This is the category that will contain the subcategory.
8. When you’re finished, click Save product

9. You’ve successfully created a subcategory! Now when customers visit your store, they’ll be able to navigate to products using the main categories and subcategories that you’ve created.

PRO TIP: If you are planning to create a sub category in Shopify, it is important to first understand the difference between a subcategory and a collection. A subcategory is simply a way to organize your products within a main category, while a collection is a group of products with similar characteristics that can be displayed together on a separate page.

Creating a subcategory does not require any special coding or set up within Shopify- it can be done entirely from the admin panel. However, keep in mind that subcategories are not automatically created when you add new products- you will need to manually add each product to the appropriate subcategory.
