How do I create a subdomain Linode?

Last updated on December 18, 2022 @ 11:02 am

The easy way to create a subdomain for your Linode account is to use the Linode Manager.

From the main menu, select Accounts. On the Accounts page, click Add Subdomain. Enter the domain name for your subdomain, and click Add.

You will be prompted to create a password for your subdomain. Click Create Subdomain to finish.

If you do not want to use the Linode Manager, you can also create a subdomain by following these steps:

1. Log in to your Linode account.

2. In the web browser, go to https:// Linode.com/account/.

3. Enter your Linode login credentials.

4. On the left side of the page, click Accounts.

5. Enter the domain name for your subdomain.

6. In the Subdomain Name field, enter the name you want to use for your subdomain (for example, my-subdomain).

7. In the Email Address field, enter the email address you want to use for your subdomain (for example, my-subdomain@example.com).

8. In the Password field, enter the password you want to use for your subdomain.

9. Click Create Subdomain.

10. On the Subdomain Information page, click Activate Subdomain.

11. On the confirmation page, click Activate Subdomain.

12. Your subdomain is now activated.

PRO TIP: If you are not familiar with DNS or domain name servers, it is best to avoid trying to create a subdomain on your own. There are a few things that can go wrong, and you could end up accidentally taking your website offline. If you absolutely must create a subdomain, be sure to consult with someone who is familiar with the process first.
