Last updated on September 23, 2022 @ 10:45 pm

There are a few different ways to crop an image in Photoshop, but for this tutorial we will focus on using the Crop Tool.

First, open your image in Photoshop. You can do this by going to File > Open, and then selecting the image you want to open.

Once your image is open, select the Crop Tool from the toolbar on the left-hand side of the screen.

Then, click and drag your cursor around the area of the image that you want to keep. As you do this, you will see a border appear around the area you are cropping.

PRO TIP: If you are not familiar with Photoshop, or image editing in general, be careful when following this tutorial. Cropping an image is a relatively simple process, but if done incorrectly it can result in a poor quality or unusable image.

When you are happy with the size and shape of the area you are cropping, release your mouse button.

You will then see a menu appear with some options for how you want to crop your image. For this tutorial, we will leave the default settings as they are. If you want to learn more about the different settings here, check out this article from Adobe.

Once you have made your selections, click the Enter/Return key on your keyboard to finalize the crop.

And that’s it! You have now successfully cropped your image in Photoshop.

Conclusion: Cropping an image in Photoshop is a quick and easy process that can be done using the Crop Tool. Simply select the tool from the toolbar, click and drag around the area you want to keep, and then release your mouse button. You can then adjust the settings as desired before finalizing the crop by pressing Enter/Return on your keyboard.
