How Do I Move Part of an Image in Photoshop?

Last updated on September 24, 2022 @ 12:43 am

There are times when you may want to move part of an image in Photoshop. For example, you may want to move a person from one side of the frame to the other.

Or, you may want to move an object to a different location in the photo. Whatever the reason, it’s easy to do with Photoshop’s Move Tool.

First, open your image in Photoshop. Then, select the Move Tool from the Toolbar on the left. You can also press the “v” key on your keyboard to select the Move Tool.

PRO TIP: If you are trying to move part of an image in Photoshop, be aware that you may inadvertently change the pixels in the image. If you are not careful, you could end up with a distorted or blurry image.

Once you have the Move Tool selected, click on the part of the image that you want to move. Then, click and drag it to the new location. You can also use the arrow keys on your keyboard to nudge the selection if you need to be more precise.

When you’re happy with the new location, let go of the mouse button or release the arrow keys. The selection will now be in its new location.

That’s all there is to it! Moving part of an image in Photoshop is easy with the Move Tool.
