How Do I Deactivate My UpWork Account?

Last updated on September 30, 2022 @ 10:50 pm

UpWork is a great platform for freelancers and businesses alike, but sometimes you need to take a break. Maybe you’re going on vacation and won’t be able to respond to clients, or maybe you’re just taking a break from freelancing altogether.

Whatever the reason, deactivating your account is easy to do and only takes a few minutes. Here’s how:

First, log into your account and click on the Settings tab at the top of the page. Then, click on the Account tab on the left side of the page. Towards the bottom of the Account tab, you will see the Deactivate Account section.

Second, before you deactivate your account, UpWork will ask you to provide a reason for why you’re deactivating. Select the appropriate reason from the drop-down menu and then click on the Deactivate Account button.

Once you deactivate your account, all of your information will be removed from UpWork. This includes your profile, portfolio, skills, feedback, job history, and more. If you decide that you want to come back to UpWork at some point, you will need to create a new account.

We hope this article helped you if you were wondering how do I deactivate my UpWork account.

PRO TIP: If you are thinking about deactivating your Upwork account, please be aware that once you do so, you will no longer be able to access your account or any of the data associated with it. This includes any files, messages, or other information that you may have stored on the site. Therefore, we recommend that you export any data that you wish to keep before deactivating your account.
