How Do I Detach Variant in Figma?

Variants are a great way to store different versions of a design in Figma. You can use variants to create different color schemes, layouts, or content for a design.

To detach a variant, first select the frame or component that contains the variant. Then, in the properties panel, click the Detach icon next to the variant name.

PRO TIP: If you are working in Figma and need to detach a variant, be aware that this action cannot be undone. Once you have detached a variant, it will become a separate object in your design file and can no longer be controlled by the original component.

Once you detach a variant, it becomes its own frame or component. You can then make changes to it without affecting the other variants.

Variants are a great way to experiment with different versions of a design without having to create separate files for each one. Detaching variants is a quick and easy way to make changes to a specific version without affecting the other variants.
