How Do I Change Variants in Figma?

Last updated on November 27, 2022 @ 6:11 pm

If you’re working on a design in Figma that uses multiple color variants, you may find yourself needing to change colors often. Luckily, Figma makes it easy to change colors across your entire design. Here’s how:

    1. Select the object or objects whose color you want to change.

    2. In the Inspector panel on the right, click the fill color swatch.

    3. In the Color Picker that appears, choose the new color you want to use.

    4. Your selected object(s) will now be updated with the new color.

Changing colors in Figma is a quick and easy way to update your designs.

Figma is a great design tool for working with multiple color variants.

PRO TIP: If you are working in Figma and need to change variants, be aware that there is currently a bug that can cause your design to become corrupted. To avoid this, make sure to save your design before changing variants. If you do encounter this issue, try restarting Figma and opening your design again.
