How Do I Edit Text in a PNG File in Photoshop?

Last updated on December 10, 2022 @ 1:51 pm

There are a few different ways to edit the text in a PNG file in Photoshop. One way is to use the “Horizontal Type tool”, which can be found in the “Tools” at the left menu.

First, upload the PNG file that you want to edit in Photoshop.

To edit the text in a PNG file in Photoshop, you need to make a new layer above the text that you want to edit in order to remove it. To do this, click on the “Rectangle tool” from the left toolbar, then click and drag across the text that you want to edit.

From there, change the color of the rectangle using the “Fill” option in the “Properties” tab. Make sure that the color is the same as the background of the original text.

Also, disable the “Stroke” to remove any outlines around the rectangle.

You can now add your new text to the image. Just click on the “Horizontal Type tool” from the left toolbar and click on the image where you want to place your text.

Click and drag on the handles of the text box to resize it. You can also style your text to match the original one using the “Character” settings on the right menu.

Now your text in the PNG file has been edited!

PRO TIP: If you are trying to edit the text in a PNG file in Photoshop, you may run into some issues. First, PNG files are typically not designed to be edited in Photoshop, so you may not be able to access all of the editing features. Additionally, even if you are able to edit the text, it may not look the way you want it to after you save the file.

Once you have finished editing your text, you can save your image by going to “File” and then “Save As.”
