How Do I Edit Video in Photoshop?

Last updated on September 23, 2022 @ 11:01 pm

If you’re interested in editing video in Photoshop, there are a few things you need to know. First, Adobe Photoshop is primarily a photo editing program, so it’s not as well equipped for video editing as some other programs.

However, it is possible to edit video in Photoshop if you’re willing to put in a little extra work. Here’s a rundown of what you need to know.

Adding video layers: In order to edit your video, you’ll need to add it to a layer. You can do this by going to File > Import > Video Frames to Layers.

Once your video is imported, it will appear as a series of still images on separate layers. You can then rearrange and edit these layers just as you would with any other image in Photoshop.

Creating motion: One of the main advantages of editing video in Photoshop is that you can create motion effects that would be very difficult or impossible to achieve with traditional video editing software. To create motion, simply select the layer or layers you want to animate and click “Animate” from the “Timeline” menu. Then, use the various settings to create your desired effect.

Rendering your video: Once you’re happy with your edited video, you’ll need to render it in order to save it as a playable file. To do this, go to File > Export > Render Video.

In the Render Video dialogue box, choose your desired file format and resolution, then click “Render. ”

Editing video in Photoshop may take a little extra work, but it’s definitely possible. With a little practice, you’ll be able to create amazing motion effects and save your edited videos in any format you desire.

PRO TIP: Warning: Editing video in Photoshop is not recommended. Photoshop is not a video editing program and does not have the necessary tools and features for editing video. If you attempt to edit video in Photoshop, you may experience crashes, freezes, or other errors.
