Scripting is an important part of websites, and Squarespace makes it easy to add scripts to your pages. To enable scripts in Squarespace, follow these steps:

    1. Open your Squarespace account.

    2. Click on your profile photo in the top left corner of the page.

    3. Click on “Settings & Tools” in the menu bar.

    4. Under “Site Settings,” click on “Advanced Settings.”

    5. Under the “Scripting” section, click on the “Enable Scripting” button.

    6. Click on the “Configure” button next to the “Enable Scripting” button to open the “Scripting Configuration” window.

    7. In the “Scripting Configuration” window, you’ll need to specify the path to your Squarespace’s scripts.

You can find the path to your scripts in the “Scripts” section of your Squarespace account.

    8. Click on the “OK” button to save the changes to your “Scripting Configuration” window.

    9. Your scripts will now be enabled in Squarespace.

You can test your scripts by clicking on the “play” button next to the “Scripts” section of your Squarespace account.

    10. Click on the “Finished” button to close the “Scripting Configuration” window.

    11. Click on the “Home” button in the top left corner of the page to return to the homepage of your Squarespace account.

    12. Click on the “Settings” button in the menu bar.

    13. Under “Site Settings,” click on “General Settings.”

    14. Under the “Scripting” section, click on the “Disable Scripting” button.

    15. Click on the “OK” button to save the changes to your “General Settings” window.

    16. Your scripts will now be disabled in Squarespace.

    17. Click on the “Finished” button to close the “General Settings” window.

    18. Under “Site Settings,” click on “Widgets & Themes.”

    19. Under the “Widgets” section, click on the “Add New” button.

    20. In the “Widget Template” window, click on the “Select a File” button.

PRO TIP: If you enable scripts on your Squarespace site, anyone who visits your site will be able to run those scripts. This could be used to do things like stealing information from you or your visitors, or taking control of your site. So be very careful about what scripts you enable on your Squarespace site.
