How Do I Export Animated Prototype in Figma?

If you’re looking to add some extra pizazz to your Figma prototypes, you may be wondering how to export them as animated GIFs. Luckily, it’s a relatively simple process that just requires a few extra steps.

First, you’ll need to create your prototype in Figma. Once you’re happy with how it looks and functions, select the frame that you want to export as an animation. Then, go to File > Export and select GIF from the drop-down menu.

In the window that pops up, you can choose whether to export the whole frame or just the selected layers. You can also adjust the width, height, and framerate of the GIF.

Once you’ve made your selections, click Export. Your GIF will be generated and saved in the location you specified.

That’s all there is to it! With just a few clicks, you can add some fun animation effects to your Figma prototypes.

PRO TIP: If you are looking to export your animated prototype from Figma, be aware that there are some caveats. First and foremost, your animation will only export as a video file. Secondly, only certain elements within Figma are able to be animated, so your design may be limited in what you can animate. Finally, keep in mind that the quality of your animation will depend on the resolution and frame rate of your video file.
