How do I get an SSL certificate from GoDaddy?

If you want to secure your website with an SSL certificate from GoDaddy, there are a few things you need to do first. You’ll need to create a new account and then select the “SSL” option on the account’s main page. From there, you’ll need to provide GoDaddy with some basic information about your website, such as its name and the country in which it’s located. You’ll also need to provide GoDaddy with your website’s full domain name (e.g. www.mywebsite.com). Once GoDaddy has all of the information it needs, it will start the process of obtaining an SSL certificate for your website. Depending on the complexity of your website, this process could take anywhere from a few days to a few weeks. Once GoDaddy has obtained your SSL certificate, you’ll be able to activate it by logging in to your account and selecting the “SSL” option on your website’s main page. Finally, you’ll need to provide GoDaddy with a valid SSL certificate request form (which you can find on GoDaddy’s website) and then submit it to the company.

PRO TIP: If you are planning to get an SSL certificate from GoDaddy, be aware that there have been reports of false positives from antivirus software when using GoDaddy-issued certificates. This means that your computer may falsely report that a virus or malware is present on your site, even though it is not. This can cause visitors to your site to be scared away, and it can also cause your site to be flagged as unsafe by search engines. If you do decide to get an SSL certificate from GoDaddy, make sure that you keep your antivirus software up to date and run regular scans of your site to ensure that no malicious software has been slipped in.

Once Goaddy has received your request, it will begin the process of issuing you a certificate. Once GoDaddy has issued you a certificate, you’ll be able to activate it by logging in to your account and selecting the “SSL” option on your website’s main page. Once GoDaddy has received your request, it will begin the process of issuing you a certificate.
