How Do I Get My Toolbar Back on Figma?

Last updated on September 29, 2022 @ 12:05 am

If you’re using Figma on a Windows or Linux machine, you may have noticed that the toolbar is now hidden by default. This is because we’ve made a change to how Figma renders the UI on these operating systems.

The main Figma window will now scale to match the resolution of your monitor. On high-resolution monitors, this means that the toolbar is no longer visible by default.

If you want to get your toolbar back, there are two ways to do it:

  1. Click on the View menu and select Toolbar. This will show the toolbar at the top of the screen.
  2. Press Ctrl+T (Windows) or Cmd+T (Mac) on your keyboard. This will also show the toolbar at the top of the screen.

We hope this change makes Figma easier to use on high-resolution monitors. If you have any feedback, please let us know!

PRO TIP: If you’re having trouble with your toolbar in Figma, there are a few things you can try to get it back. First, make sure that you’re in the right workspace by clicking the workspace name in the top left corner of the screen. If you’re in the wrong workspace, your toolbar may be hidden. Second, try refreshing your browser window. If that doesn’t work, try logging out and logging back in. If you still can’t see your toolbar, contact Figma support for help.

  1. Click on the View menu and select Toolbar.

This will show the toolbar at the top of the screen.

  2. Press Ctrl+T (Windows) or Cmd+T (Mac) on your keyboard.

We hope this change makes Figma easier to use on high-resolution monitors. If you have any feedback, please let us know!
