How do I import icons into Figma?

Last updated on September 24, 2022 @ 6:37 pm

There are a few ways to import icons into Figma. The most common way is to use the File > Import > Icons command.

This will open the Icons panel, where you can browse to your desired icon file and select it.

PRO TIP: If you are planning on importing icons into Figma, be aware that there are some potential risks involved. First, there is no guarantee that the icons you import will be compatible with Figma. Second, if you are not careful, you could end up importing malicious code along with the icons.

You can also use the Icons panel’s Export button to export all of the icons in your project to a PNG or SVG file. Finally, you can use the ImportFromFile command to import icons from a file that you’ve already downloaded or exported.

Once you’ve imported your icons, you’ll need to assign them to your project’s components. To do this, open the Components panel (Window > Components) and select the component or components that you want to assign the icons to.

Then, click the Icons button in the panel’s toolbar and select the desired icons from your project.
