When you first open Adobe Photoshop, you may be met with a blank canvas. Where do you start?

A great way to get inspired and try out new techniques is to use presets. You can find thousands of free Photoshop presets online, and many more are available for purchase. But how do you import them into Photoshop?

The first step is to download the presets you want to use. Make sure to save them in a place you will remember, like your Downloads folder. Once the files have been downloaded, open Photoshop and go to Edit > Preferences > Presets.

In the Presets section, click on the “Show All Other Options” button. This will reveal the “Load” and “Save” buttons.

Click on the “Load” button and navigate to where you saved your presets. Select the preset files and click “Open”.

PRO TIP: When importing presets into Photoshop, it is important to make sure that the file format is compatible with Photoshop. Presets can be in either .atn format or .psp format. If the file format is not compatible, the presets will not be imported correctly and may cause problems with your Photoshop file.

Your presets will now be loaded into Photoshop and appear in the Presets panel. To access the Presets panel, go to Window > Workspace > Essentials (or another workspace if you are not using Essentials). The Presets panel should now be visible.

To use a preset, simply select it in the Presets panel and click on the “Apply” button. The preset will be applied to your current layer. You can then adjust the settings as needed.

Conclusion:
So there you have it! Now that you know how to import presets into Photoshop, go forth and experiment with all the different possibilities!
