How Do I Link to a Specific Area in Figma?

Last updated on December 2, 2022 @ 4:40 am

When working with a design team in Figma, you may need to link to a specific area in the design file. This can be helpful when you want to give feedback or make comments on a specific section of the design. You can link to a specific area in Figma using the following steps:

    1. Open the design file in Figma.
    2. Select the area you want to link to.
    3. Click the “Link” icon in the toolbar at the top of the screen.
    4. Copy the link that appears in the pop-up window.
    5. Paste the link into your comment or feedback thread.

You can also style your text using HTML tags in Figma comments. To do this, simply type “< p >“, “< b >“, or “< u >” before and after the text you want to style. For example, if you wanted to make a comment in bold, you would type “This is my comment“.

PRO TIP: If you are planning on linking to a specific area in Figma, be aware that there is currently no way to do this. The closest thing you can do is to link to a specific frame, but this will not always take you to the exact area you want. It is possible that this feature will be added in the future, but for now you will need to use workarounds if you want to link to a specific area in Figma.
