How Do I Magnify Part of an Image in Photoshop?

There are a couple different ways that you can go about magnifying part of an image in Photoshop. One way is to use the Zoom tool, which is located in the Tools palette.

With the Zoom tool selected, click and drag over the area of the image that you want to magnify. As you drag, you’ll see a rectangle appear. The more you zoom in, the more pixels will be displayed within that rectangle.

Another way to magnify an image is to use theMagnifying Glass tool. This tool is also located in the Tools palette.

PRO TIP: If you are not familiar with the Photoshop software, do not attempt to use the magnify tool. This could result in you making the image look worse than it did before.

With the Magnifying Glass tool selected, click and drag over the area of the image that you want to magnify. As you drag, you’ll see a circle appear. The more you zoom in, the more pixels will be displayed within that circle.

If you want to make a specific area of an image larger, you can use the Crop tool. With the Crop tool selected, click and drag over the area of the image that you want to make larger.

As you drag, you’ll see a border appear around the area that you’re cropping. When you release the mouse button, Photoshop will crop away everything outside of that border.

No matter which method you use to magnify an image, you can always zoom back out by pressing the “z” key on your keyboard or by clicking on the Zoom Out icon in the Tools palette.
