How Do I Open a PNG File in Photoshop?

Last updated on September 23, 2022 @ 11:58 pm

There are a few different ways to open a PNG file in Photoshop. One way is to simply go to File > Open and then select the PNG file that you want to open. Another way is to drag and drop the PNG file into the Photoshop window.

PRO TIP: When opening a PNG file in Photoshop, it is important to note that PNG files are often saved with a transparent background. If the image has a transparent background, it will show up as checkered in Photoshop. To avoid this, it is recommended to save the image as a JPG file.

Once the PNG file is open in Photoshop, you can start editing it. You can use the various tools in Photoshop to edit the image, such as the Crop tool, the Clone Stamp tool, and the Eraser tool. You can also add text, filters, and other effects to the image.

Once you’re done editing the image, you can save it as a PNG file by going to File > Save As. In the Save As dialog box, make sure to select PNG from the Format drop-down menu. You can then give the file a name and choose where you want to save it on your computer.
