How Do I Open the Actions Panel in Photoshop CC?

Last updated on September 23, 2022 @ 9:26 pm

In Photoshop CC, the Actions panel is where you can record, edit, and play back your own custom actions. By default, the Actions panel is located on the right side of the workspace. If you don’t see it, go to Window > Actions.

To record an action, first make sure that the Actions panel is open. Then, select the ‘Create new action’ button at the bottom of the panel.

A dialog box will appear where you can name your action and assign it to a function key. You can also choose whether to include a stop step so that you can review your work after recording.

Once you’ve named your action and decided on its settings, hit ‘Record’. Photoshop will then begin recording your steps.

To stop recording, hit the ‘Stop playing/recording’ button at the bottom of the Actions panel. Your action will now be saved in the panel for future use.

PRO TIP: The Actions Panel in Photoshop CC is a powerful tool that can help you automate repetitive tasks. However, it can also be used to make destructive changes to your images if you’re not careful. Before using the Actions Panel, be sure to read the documentation and understand how it works.

To edit an existing action, simply double-click on it in the list. This will open up the action’s editing window where you can make changes to the recorded steps. When you’re finished, hit ‘Save’.

To play back an action, select it from the list and then click on the ‘Play’ button at the bottom of the Actions panel. Photoshop will then run through all of the recorded steps in order.

The Actions panel in Photoshop CC is a great way to automate repetitive tasks and save time. By recording your own actions, you can quickly playback these steps whenever you need to without having to redo them each time.
