How Do I Polygonize an Image in Photoshop?

Last updated on September 24, 2022 @ 11:38 am

There are a few ways to polygonize an image in Photoshop. One way is to use the “P” key to select the Pen tool, and then click around the perimeter of the image.

Another way is to use the “L” key to select the Lasso tool, and then click and drag around the perimeter of the image. Finally, you can use the “Polygon” tool, which is located under the “Select” menu.

PRO TIP: If you are not familiar with the Photoshop software, please be aware that polygonizing an image can result in some unexpected results. We advise that you seek out tutorials or ask for help from a friend before attempting to polygonize an image.

Once you have selected the desired tool, click around the perimeter of the image to create a path. To close the path, either click on the first point you created or press “Enter.”

Then, go to “Edit > Define Pattern.” Give your pattern a name and click “OK.” Your pattern is now ready to be used!

To apply your new pattern, create a new layer and go to “Edit > Fill.” Select “Pattern” from the drop-down menu and choose your new pattern. Click “OK” to apply it.
