How Do I Record Time in UpWork?

As a freelancer, one of the most important things you can do is track your time. Clients want to know that you’re working on their project and not wasting time, and you need to be able to prove it to them. UpWork makes it easy to track your time, and in this article, we’ll show you how.

There are two ways to track time in UpWork: through the desktop app or through the web app.

If you’re using the desktop app, open UpWork and click on the timer in the upper-right corner. This will open a pop-up window where you can start the timer and add details about what you’re working on.

PRO TIP: Recording time in Upwork is a bit different than other time tracking applications. When you record your time, you’ll need to include the date, start time, end time, and duration. The duration should be in hours and minutes.

Once you’re done, click “Save” and the timer will start running. You can pause the timer at any time by clicking on the pause button next to it.

If you’re using the web app, open UpWork and click on “My Work Diary” in the left sidebar. This will open a page where you can start and stop the timer, as well as add details about what you’re working on.

Either way, tracking your time in UpWork is easy and only takes a few seconds. By doing so, you’ll be able to prove to clients that you’re working on their project and not wasting time.
