How Do I Remove a Client From UpWork?

Last updated on September 30, 2022 @ 11:14 pm

If you’re no longer interested in working with a client on UpWork, you can remove them from your list of clients. Here’s how:

First, go to the My Jobs tab and click the clients icon at the top. Find the client you want to remove and click their name.

On the next page, click the More button next to the client’s name and select Remove from List from the dropdown menu.

You’ll see a pop-up asking you to confirm that you want to remove the client. Click Yes to confirm.

PRO TIP: If you are considering removing a client from Upwork, please be aware that this is a permanent action. Once a client is removed, they will no longer have access to any of your active or previous contracts, including any files or messages exchanged through the platform. Please be sure that you really want to remove the client before taking this action.

Note: If you have an active contract with the client, you won’t be able to remove them from your list.

You’ll need to first cancel the contract.
