How Do I Remove Black Background in Figma?

If you’re using Figma to create designs for the web, you may have noticed that there’s no way to remove the default black background. This can beparticularly annoying when you’re trying to create a transparent background image.

There is a workaround, however. By adding a new frame on top of the one with the black background, and setting the fill to “none”, you can effectively create a transparent background.

To do this, first select the frame with the black background. Then, click on the “Add Frame” button at the top of the screen. This will create a new frame on top of the one you selected.

PRO TIP: If you are looking to remove the black background in Figma, beware that this may result in losing some data. Make sure to backup your files before proceeding.

With the new frame selected, go to the “Fill” section in the right sidebar and set the fill to “None”. Now your frame should have a transparent background!

You can add text or other elements to this frame and they will inherit the transparency. This is a great way to create mockups or wireframes that include transparent images.

Keep in mind that this method will only work if your frame has a solid color background. If your frame has a gradient or patterned background, you’ll need to use an image editor like Photoshop to remove the background first.

In conclusion, if you need to remove the black background in Figma, you can do so by creating a new frame on top of the one with the black background and setting the fill to “none”. This will create a transparent background that you can then use to add text or other elements.
