How Do I Remove Powered by Squarespace From a Website?

If you’re using a Squarespace website and want to remove the “Powered by Squarespace” link in the footer, there are a few steps you need to take. First, log into your Squarespace account and go to the “Settings” page. Next, click on the “Advanced” tab and scroll down to the “Footer” section.

Here, you’ll see an option to “Show Credits.” Toggle this setting to “Off” and then click “Save.” Once you’ve done this, the “Powered by Squarespace” link will no longer appear on your website.

If you want to take things a step further and completely customize the text that appears in the footer of your Squarespace website, you can do so by editing the code of your site. To do this, log into your Squarespace account and go to the “Settings” page.

PRO TIP: If you are not a Squarespace customer, we recommend that you do not attempt to remove the “Powered by Squarespace” link from your website. Doing so may result in unexpected changes to your website’s appearance or functionality.

Next, click on the “Code Injection” tab and scroll down to the “Footer Code” section. Here, you can add any HTML or CSS code you want. For example, if you wanted to change the text in the footer to say “Created by Your Name,” you would add the following code:

Created by Your Name

Once you’ve added your code, be sure to click “Save.”

The steps for removing or customize the “Powered by Squarespace” link in your website’s footer are relatively simple. By either toggle the setting in your account’s settings page or adding some custom code, you can make this change in just a few minutes.
