Last updated on September 25, 2022 @ 1:06 pm

If you are having trouble logging in, or if you think your Linode has been compromised, you can reset your Linode. While resetting your Linode is not a guaranteed solution to resolving any issues, it can help remove any malicious code or files that may be on your system.

To reset your Linode, first power off your Linode by disconnecting power and ethernet cables. Next, remove the hard drive and memory stick, and reset your Linode using the instructions below.

After resetting your Linode, you should power on your system and attempt to log in. If you still experience issues, you can contact Linode support for further assistance.

PRO TIP: If you are resetting your Linode, please be aware that this will erase all data on your Linode. Please make sure to back up any data you wish to keep before proceeding.

1. Disconnect power and ethernet cables

2. Remove the hard drive and memory stick

3. Reset your Linode using the instructions below

4. Power on your Linode and attempt to log in.
