How Do I Run a Figma Plugin?

Last updated on September 29, 2022 @ 12:11 am

You can run a Figma plugin in two ways:

Method 1: Use the “Run Plugin” menu item

Open the “Plugins” menu from the top bar. Then select the “Run Plugin” menu item.

This will open a dialog allowing you to select which plugin you want to run. Select the plugin you want and then click the “Open” button.

PRO TIP: Figma plugins are a great way to extend the functionality of Figma, but they can also be a great way to introduce instability and bugs into your Figma files. Before running any Figma plugin, be sure to back up your file and test the plugin on a copy of your file.

Method 2: Use the shortcut keys

You can also use shortcut keys to run a plugin. To do this, first make sure that the plugin you want to run is selected in the “Plugins” menu.

Then press Option + Shift + P (Mac) or Alt + Shift + P (Windows). This will open the same dialog as above, allowing you to select which plugin you want to run.

Conclusion:

So those are two ways that you can run a Figma plugin. If you have any questions, feel free to leave a comment below.
