How Do I Set Up Email Confirmation in WooCommerce?

Last updated on October 1, 2022 @ 9:26 pm

Email confirmation is a must for any online store. It helps to ensure that customers’ orders are received and helps to prevent fraud.

WooCommerce has a built-in system for email confirmation, which can be easily set up. Here’s how:

1. Log into your WordPress admin panel. If you don’t have one, you can create one easily following these instructions.

2. Once you’re logged in, go to WooCommerce > Settings. You’ll see a tabbed interface – click on the Email tab.

3. On the Email tab, you’ll see a section labeled “Email Sender Options”.

Here, you can choose who will appear as the sender of WooCommerce emails. The options are “WordPress” (which will use the name and email address set in your general WordPress settings), or “WooCommerce” (which will use the name and email address set in your WooCommerce settings).

Note: It is important to set up your “from” name and email address correctly, as many email providers will mark emails from unknown senders as spam.

PRO TIP: If you are not familiar with code or are not comfortable making code changes, do not attempt to follow this tutorial. Making the wrong change to your code can break your site. If you are not comfortable with code, we recommend finding a WooCommerce expert to help you set up email confirmation.

4. Below the “Email Sender Options” section, you’ll see a list of all the different types of WooCommerce emails that can be sent. For each email type, you can choose whether it should be enabled or disabled.

5. To set up email confirmation for orders, find the “New Order” email template and click on the “Configure” link next to it.

6. On the “Configure Email Template” page, scroll down to the “Recipient(s)” section. Here, you can add one or more email addresses that should receive new order notifications.

Note: You can add multiple recipients by separating them with commas.

7. Once you’ve added the desired recipients, scroll down and click on the “Save Changes” button.

Conclusion

By following the steps above, you can easily set up email confirmation for orders in WooCommerce. This is a valuable security measure that can help to prevent fraud and ensure that customers’ orders are received.
