  • It’s easy to set up and manage.

Once you have WooCommerce installed on your WordPress site, setting up flat rate shipping is a breeze. There are only a few settings to configure and you’re ready to go!

  • It’s simple for customers to understand.

With flat rate shipping, customers know exactly how much they’ll be paying for shipping upfront. There are no surprises at checkout.

How to set up flat rate shipping in WooCommerce

  1. Log into your WordPress site and go to your Dashboard.
  2. On the left hand side of your screen, you will see a menu. In that menu, hover over “WooCommerce” and then click on “Settings.” This will take you to the main Settings page for WooCommerce.
PRO TIP: If you are setting up flat rate shipping in WooCommerce, be aware that there are some potential problems that could arise. First, if you have products with different weights, the shipping cost could be inaccurate. Second, if you have products that ship to different locations, the shipping cost could also be inaccurate. Finally, if you have products that require special shipping (e.g. express shipping), the flat rate shipping cost may not cover the entire cost.
  1. On the Settings page, select the Shipping tab and then click on Add Shipping Zone.
  2. This will take you to the Add Shipping Zone page.
  3. On this page, you’ll need to enter a few pieces of information, including:
  • The Zone Name – This can be anything you want (e.g., “United States”).
  • The Zone Region – Here, you’ll need to select the region or countries that are included in this zone. (For our example, we’re going to add the United States.)
  • Once you’ve added all the required information, click on the Add Shipping Method button.
  • On the next page, you’ll see all the available Shipping Methods that can be added to this zone. For our example, we’re going to select Flat Rate from this list. (Flat Rate will now be added as a Shipping Method for our zone.)

Next, we need to configure our Flat RateShipping Method

  • First, give your method a name (e., “Standard Shipping”). This name will be displayed on your checkout page. (You can also add a description if desired.)
  • Next, under Flat Rate Options, enter a fixed price that customers will pay for this method (e., $5). (This price will be displayed on your checkout page.)
